Now really Mr.Bush...
1971 : US pushes China to attack India (From declassified US administration transcripts)
2005 : US needs a new stooge in Asia to check China (From rumors on international diplomacy...let's see.)
So can we trust US rhetoric on democracy? Not really. Like policies of every country of the world including the middle-east, it changes with the people in power and what they can make everybody believe. When you have the kind of wealth and arsenal US does, diplomatic manipulation comes darn easy. Making it look right is as easy.
I must say China's communism does scare me, although their capacity for development because of just this communism is quite amazing.
Now the thing that surprises me(kinda...a little) about USA is they actually released those Nixon transcripts in spite of the kind of content in them (US pushes China to attack India, the then US Secretary of state Henry Kissinger calls Indians 'Bastards' and Indira Gandhi a 'Bitch' in conversations with Nixon etc etc). |
